The fancies and reflections of a loquacious ninja

About this blog

“There is no such thing as an uninteresting subject, there are only uninterested people.”

This blog is long overdue.

For a long time I have wanted a blog of my own, for me to express my thoughts, share my pictures, and so on, but it still took a school assignment to prod me into actually making one. (I am forever grateful for the extra push.)

Hopefully, now that it is here, it has what it takes to stay on. I know myself too well to promise that I shall always faithfully be here with a new post, that my consistency shall never wane, that I’ll always post at least once a week… but I’ll do my best.

There are many subjects that will warrant a new post (or even series of posts) in my eyes at least, so expect to see a fairly wide range of different types of posts. Some days, I may end up blogging about completely random oddities that happened to catch my fancy. If/when this happens, please bear with me. One of the main reasons I wanted to start this blog is self-expression (as self-indulgent as that sounds), and I doubt it’ll always come out coherently, so be prepared for some irregularities.

But this blog isn’t all about my own precious “self-expression.” I’m also blogging for your benefit, so feel free to leave your comments. Please give me your feedback. If something I post catches your fancy too, let me know. If something else I post grates against you horribly and robs you of sleep for weeks, let me know. I don’t know how successful I’ll be at balancing these two ends, but this blog is intended to be for the reader as much as for the writer.

But really, even these are only minor elements. The true purpose of this blog, as is everything else’s, is to bring God glory; by proclaiming His truth, by showing His goodness, by displaying His beauty. And in doing so, I hope that you find yourself drawn closer to Him, through a deeper knowledge and appreciation of who He is.

I don’t pretend that these aren’t lofty goals, or that I already have everything together and need only to convey my wisdom to the unenlightened who may be reading this. This will be a journey for me too. But it is my prayer that this blog will achieve its purpose for as long as it remains, and I know that it will stay online only for as long as it brings Him glory in one way or another.

I hope that being here bring you enjoyment, reason to reflect, and a deeper appreciation for the things of God.

~Timothy

P.S. Shout-out to my primary inspiration for blogging, the maker and keeper of this beautiful blog. Thank you for your inspiring leadership in this area! (and I hope my following of your example doesn’t “borrow without permission” too many elements from your own blog)

Congratulations on finally beginning a blog! (I always had a hunch that blogging would be the perfect thing for a loquacious ninja like yourself. Hang on, let me go look up what loquacious means. … Oh, right. Loquacious!)
And thank you for your gracious shout-out. It is quite undeserved as my blog is simply a heart set to words in hopes that it bears some relevance to someone, somewhere! But I am immensely glad if it has been some inspiration.
I’ll add a link in my blogroll so that more readers will wander this way …

If you’re curious about my physical location, I won’t be disclosing that. If you’re asking why I haven’t touched this blog in over a year, I am still here – I am still growing and learning in knowledge, wonder and grace. As I have found other outlets to express and develop those lessons (not to mention the startling lack of time I have to maintain this poor, neglected acre of cyberspace), I simply no longer chronicle those things here.

I still leave this here as an archive of sorts for what I’ve written in the past – and who knows? perhaps I’ll be back some time to write or merely to read the imprints of the past. But for now, the sign in the window reads “Gone for now – please don’t wait for me.”
